Integrate Pocket into your Content Marketing Workflow with Shareist

Bookmarking tools are great. They're integrated everywhere and allow you to save, and organize web pages for later. But while capturing stuff is easy, getting that content back out, and doing more with it isn't always so easy.

With Shareist's Pocket integration, you can access all that great content you bookmark right in the same place from where you share and create content.

How it Works

When you connect your Pocket account to Shareist, anything you capture into Pocket can be visible in the Research area of Shareist. From there, you can choose to add it into your Inbox, share it to social media, and use the content in pages for your blogs, email newsletters, and ebooks.

Pocket has a browser extension, integration with many other apps, and a browser and desktop interfaces for capturing and organizing content with tags. It's easy to get content into Pocket. Now it's easy to get content out of Pocket for social media and content marketing.

Setting it Up

In the Shareist Connect screen, connect Pocket by clicking the Add button.

After connecting your account, your Pocket stream will contain content from your entire Pocket account. You can stop here and have that content available in all of your projects, or you can configure it further.

  • Click settings to choose a all items, untagged items, or items with a specific tag. Note that you can only specify one tag per stream.
  • Add multiple streams - You can connect Pocket more than once and make each stream be its own Pocket tag.. In the above picture, I've connected to Pocket twice, one for all Pocket content, and one with the tag 'genealogy', for use in a project about that topic.
  • Click Edit display name to change the visible name of your stream. This is necessary to tell multiple streams apart. By default they're named your account name.
  • Click Show/Hide in all projects to make this Stream available in all or none of your Shareist projects. This is useful if you have a lot of projects to manage. By default, new streams are visible in all projects.
  • If you have a problem with your Pocket stream, or want to remove it from Shareist, click Reconnect or Remove.

Below is the settings screen where you can select which tag, untagged, or all tags.

Configure Your Streams Per Project

Once you have your streams set up in the Connect screen, you can configure them to be available in your projects. In each project, choose the Project > Set Project Accounts menu item. From here, you can select which streams appear in that project's research tab, as well as configure the stream to automatically be imported into your Inbox.

Here's the Account settings for my Genealogy Project. I have my Genealogy Pocket stream automatically imported to my project inbox.

Now you try

If you're an Pocket user, give the Shareist-Pocket integration a try. It's one more way to get your web apps tied together, making you more efficient.

And if you don't have Shareist, try it now for free.
