Quickly Schedule Social Media Posts Using Time Slots

Up until now, you were able to schedule social medial shares on a specific date, or immediately. This requires that you keep in mind your intended social media sharing schedule, as well as keeping an eye on what was scheduled previously.

Now we've introduced time slots, which are predefined times to which you set and fill up with your social media posts. This allows you to quickly, without thinking about the schedule, fill up your days with consistent foundational content.

Here's how it works.

Click the Advanced Share link from an element in the inbox or in the research interface.

In the advanced sharing screen, once you choose an account, you'll be able to choose to share to the next time slot, as well as see the next time slot for each account.

Since it is possible to select multiple accounts and set different slots per account, the next time slot may be different for each. You can see the next slot for each selected account at the bottom of the advanced share screen.

Setting Time Slots

By default, all accounts have their time slots set to 10am, 1pm and 4pm Eastern time.

You can change the time slots for each account per project in the Projects > Set Project Accounts page.

Click to edit the time slots per account. You can choose to have all the same times for every day of the week, or you can add groups of time slots including one or more days of the week.

As you schedule into time slots, your content will fill the next available time slot that isn't filled in. If there are shares scheduled later outside of time slots, that will not affect the time slots. So, for example, if you scheduled a specific post a month out for an event, the time slots won't start after that date.

The "Set Project Accounts" screen is also where you can specify which accounts, pages, and groups appear in the project sharing screen.

Quick Share is another feature which enables you to share lots of elements at once, filling up time slots with amazing efficiency. We'll cover that in another post, here.

Viewing Scheduled Shares

After you schedule posts into time slots, you may want to confirm that they're properly scheduled. Just go to the Social > Scheduled tab or the Calendar to see all your shares in a list or on the calendar, respectively.

Give time slots a try and see how easy it is to get your social channels scheduled out in advance, saving you time to work on the important stuff, like creating great content!
